We're delighted to welcome Emma, Business Analyst specialized in IT/Digital at a prestigious Swiss watchmaking company, to discuss her career path and professional experiences.
Hello Emma, thank you for taking the time to chat with us today. Can you tell us about your career path and your current role within this major Swiss watchmaking company?
Over 10 years as a Project Manager, I've had the opportunity to participate mainly in projects in the luxury goods industry.
To date, I've been working for a prestigious Swiss watchmaking company with dual skills: PM and BA for several years now.
The job of Business Analyst came naturally to me when I was working on a customer project. Indeed, as a complement to project management, it is essential to formalize the customer's needs for better project planning.
My role is to identify the company's digital and technological needs and propose innovative solutions to improve our processes and the customer experience.
What are the main IT/digital projects you've worked on for this watchmaker?
One of the major projects is to orchestrate the standardization of organizational processes to facilitate cross-functional working within the company.
I also worked on the implementation of an artificial intelligence (AI) solution to improve information retrieval in the data repository for subsidiaries and retailers.
What specific challenges have you encountered in these projects?
The luxury sector has its own challenges. We have to constantly strike a balance between tradition and innovation. For the IA solution, for example, it was crucial to maintain the high-end brand image while offering a modern, intuitive user experience. What's more, the integration of new technologies has to be achieved without compromising the quality and exclusivity our customers expect.
What skills and qualities do you find essential for success as a Business Analyst in the luxury watchmaking sector?
In-depth knowledge of technological and digital trends is a must. You also need strong analytical skills to interpret data and transform it into concrete strategies. Communication skills are key, as you need to work closely with multidisciplinary teams. Last but not least, a particular sensitivity to luxury goods and an understanding of the expectations of customers in this sector are essential to proposing relevant solutions that respect the brand's identity.
How did your experience at Antaes influence your career in luxury watchmaking?
Antaes facilitated my involvement with the company. The company's image and the expertise of its staff are a guarantee of quality for the customer.
For those wondering, why join Antaes?
A large team on a human scale. Employees are encouraged to help each other, especially if they are moving up the career ladder.
What advice would you give to other professionals looking to succeed as a Business Analyst in the luxury watch sector?
I would advise them to always keep up to date with the latest technological and digital trends. The luxury sector evolves rapidly, and it's crucial to propose innovative solutions while respecting the brand's identity and values. It's also important to develop strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with different teams and stakeholders. Finally, having a passion for luxury and an understanding of the expectations of customers in this sector can really make a difference.
A big thank you, Emma, for this super interesting sharing about your role and your projects. We really appreciate you taking the time to chat with us!
Thank you very much! It was really nice to talk about my experience and the exciting challenges we face every day in the world of luxury.
